Mohsen Rifaat was born in Egypt and has resided in Canada since 1968. He holds degrees in architecture and urban planning, and has enjoyed a wide-ranging career which has taken him to many far-away places. Athough he spent his professional life in the business, government and diplomatic worlds, Mohsen has never been long removed from his love of drawing. He has been deeply influenced by his mother, Fatma Rifaat, the celebrated Egyptian watercolour artist, and, in recent years, has developed his watercolour technique through studies at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
